1.3.7 Latest version
August 2026
The barcode scanner now logs what you drink, not what the packaging holds.
📷 Scanner rebuilt
- Choose your volume — scan a 1.5 litre bottle, say you're having one glass: the caffeine is recalculated accordingly. Three formats in one tap, or type any amount.
- Hydration is counted — the volume of a scanned drink feeds your water counter. Sparkling water or herbal tea logs with no caffeine and counts in full.
- Keep your drinks — a checkbox saves the scanned drink. You'll find it again in one tap, on iPhone and Apple Watch.
- Photo and brand — check at a glance that the right item was scanned.
⚡ Faster, even offline
- Scanned products are kept for thirty days — the second scan is instant and works without a connection. The data fetched is also far lighter.
🔧 Fixes
- EFSA mark corrected — the 200 to 400 mg range is no longer flagged as a warning. EFSA considers that up to 400 mg a day raises no concern for a healthy adult.
- Smoother scanner opening — camera setup no longer briefly freezes the interface.
1.3.6
August 2026
PauseCafé now speaks English, runs on more devices, and logging a drink is considerably faster.
🌍 English version
- The app is available in English — interface, notifications, badges, levels, rewards, Apple Watch, widgets and emails. The language follows your iPhone's automatically.
- Country-aware units — weights show in pounds and volumes in fluid ounces on devices set to the United States, in kilograms and millilitres everywhere else.
📱 Wider compatibility
- More models supported — the app now installs on a wider range of iPhone and Apple Watch models.
⚡ Improvement
- Faster logging — the delay between two drinks drops from 30 to 5 seconds. You can log several in a row without waiting, and still undo straight afterwards.

- Date badges — badges tied to a special date (Bastille Day, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Halloween…) could unlock too early, before the end of the day concerned. Now fixed.
- Active caffeine tip — within four hours of your bedtime, the app now suggests a decaf drink rather than encouraging another coffee.
- Weekly report — Sunday showed 0 mg of caffeine in the email recap. Sunday's data is now included properly.

A major release: hydration has been rebuilt from the ground up, drinks now come in sizes, and PauseCafé adapts to the weather.
💧 Hydration rebuilt
- Everything moves to millilitres — counter, history, statistics, goal, reminders and the summary email. More precise than the old glasses.
- The water in your drinks is counted — a coffee, a tea or a soda also provide water, and PauseCafé takes that into account automatically. You can turn it off in the settings.
☕ Drink sizes
- Choose the size (S, M, L) — the volume and caffeine adjust accordingly each time you log a drink.
🌡️ Weather and heatwaves
- Heatwave alert — in France, PauseCafé reads the Météo-France alert level for the département you choose (no geolocation). An alert banner appears on the home screen and the widget during hot weather, free for everyone.
- Stepped-up hydration reminders — during a heatwave, your reminders step up automatically (Premium).
- Annotated hydration chart — very hot days are flagged on your chart, so you can read your habits in context.
⌚ Apple Watch (Premium)
- New Hydration complication on your watch face, alongside caffeine.
- More reliable syncing — a drink logged from the Watch is never lost again.
🔧 Fixes and quality of life
- The weekly email summary is now optional (off by default).
- The water shown in the widget now matches your actual total for the day exactly.
- Better data isolation when switching accounts on the same device.
- Various reliability improvements.

✨ What's new
- Real-time active caffeine — see the estimated amount of caffeine still in your body: it rises with each drink then falls away over the hours. At a glance, you know how much will be left at bedtime. Available in the app, in the widget, on Apple Watch and as complications on your watch face.
- Syncing with the Health app — write your caffeine and water to the Health app to find them alongside the rest of your data.
- Premium insights: caffeine, sleep and heart — discover the link between your caffeine and your actual sleep, and between your caffeine and your resting heart rate. The analyses use Health app data and are computed directly on your device: they never leave your iPhone.
