📤 What PauseCafé writes to Health
When you turn syncing on, PauseCafé can write the data you already log in the app to the Health app — so you find it in the same place as the rest of your health data.
Caffeine
Every caffeinated drink you log can be added to Health (in milligrams of caffeine).
Water
Every glass of water you add can be recorded as water intake in Health.
📥 What PauseCafé reads from Health
To give you more meaningful insights, PauseCafé can, only if you allow it, read two pieces of information already in Health. It reads nothing else.
Sleep
The sleep duration recorded by your watch or your iPhone, to set alongside your caffeine.
Resting heart rate
Your resting heart rate, to look for any trend against your caffeine intake.
🔒 Your data stays on your device
Data from the Health app (sleep, heart rate) is read and used directly on your iPhone. It is never sent to our servers or to any third party: the calculations and analyses happen locally. You can withdraw access at any time in Settings › Health › PauseCafé.
📊 Indicative analyses
From this data, PauseCafé can offer you analyses: the possible link between your caffeine and your sleep, and between your caffeine and your resting heart rate. These analyses are part of Premium.
They are indicative : an observed association is not proof of cause and effect, and many other factors influence your sleep and your heart. Read them as food for thought, not as a diagnosis.
⚙️ How to turn it on
- Open PauseCafé, then go to Settings in the app.
- Turn on syncing with the Health app.
- iOS asks which permissions to grant (read and/or write) — you decide.
- You can change or withdraw these permissions at any time in Settings › Health › PauseCafé.
